Welcome to our web site!
For several years, since the relocation of the hospital to the new site off Seaward Way, there has been a strong interest in retaining the original old hospital buildings in the The Avenue and restoring them for use as a community hub for the benefit of the residents of Minehead and West Somerset. The Minehead Development Trust introduced the concept of a community hub on the site and aimed to restore the heritage buildings to their former glory in the process. The MDT, however, were unable to raise the funds necessary to purchase the site and in 2015 it was bought by investors Bill Howard and Bob Jones who formed a company, Minehead Old Town Hall Investments Ltd (MOTHI), as a vehicle for moving forward with the community hub project, in cooperation with MDT. |
In May 2016 MOTHI and MDT were unable to agree on a way forward together and MOTHI decided, for the time being, to push on with the project alone, still holding true to the plan to create Minehead's community hub on the site.
